Southern Crescent Technical College recognizes that sound academic advisement is essential to student success.

Our college philosophy is to guide students through the advisement process so that they quickly achieve four objectives:

• Identify courses necessary to achieve their academic goals.
• Become competent at registering themselves using Banner Web.
• Gain an active awareness of their own development toward their career path.
• Understand how their academic goals relate to their personal, social and career goals.

At 十大网赌平台推荐, we employ a shared structure for advising known as the split model. This model divides advising responsibilities between a faculty member within the student’s discipline and professional career advisors. During their first semester, students receive guidance from career advisors. As they progress and complete their general education core classes, they will transition to faculty advisors. This system is designed to support the needs of programs that require specific prerequisite courses. Career advisors are located in the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Centers on the Griffin and Flint River campuses as well as the Henry Center.
